Saxifraga stolonifera 'Strawberry begonia'

Saxifraga stolonifera 'Strawberry begonia'

12.00

This unusual ‘Strawberry Begonia’ is neither a strawberry nor a begonia. Its common name comes from the leaves that look like begonia, and because it spreads by runners like a strawberry plant. It has beautiful small scalloped leaves that have silvery veins. The leaves are fuzzy with burgundy-red undersides. They also have long running threads with plantlets dangling from the plant. This plant will look brilliant hanging or placed on a shelf.

RATING- Easy

LOVES- A cool area is best for this plant. Keep in a bright position. Water once the soil has dried out and reduce the amount in winter.

HATES- Misting- Do not mist as the tiny fuzzy leaves will become too wet and lead to rotting. Direct sunlight will cause the leaves to crisp up and scorch.
