Glass pearls of volcanic rock, Perlite offers a huge range of properties and uses. Probably the most popular of all aerators, perlite is exceptionally lightweight and porous to air and water, making it viable for both soil and semi hydroponics. In soil, each granule acts as an Oxygen oasis for roots to grow around, whilst simultaneously adding additional drainage passageways throughout the mixture to prevent water logging. Due to its lightweight nature it can float to the top with heavy-handed watering, which ideally should be avoided!

When used in hydroponics, perlite shows off its water retentive qualities. This medium clings to beads pf water whilst naturally holding epic amounts of air, making a 100% Perlite substrate ideal fro propagation or growing plants. Avoid breathing dust in during use, precautions such as using a mask or repotting outdoors are advised.
