  • The Spider plant is native to southern Africa, and has slender, variegated leaves with white stripes. Spider plants send out long stems which produce tiny white flowers, as well as baby spider plants! The ‘babies’ are very easy to propagate - simply place them in some damp potting soil and wait for the roots to develop. After 2-3 weeks, cut the stem that connects them to the mother plant with some clean, sharp scissors. Their bushy appearance makes them great hanging plants too.

  • Care difficulty: Easy!

Light requirements: Spider plants thrive in bright, indirect light but will also tolerate semi-shade. Avoid direct sunlight, as this will damage the leaves.

Watering: Keep the soil most (but not soggy) throughout spring and summer. Reduce watering slightly in winter - allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.

Hardiness: These plants are very hardy.

    Size: Pot diameter 12cm.

Humidity: Spider plants enjoy humidity, so occasional misting will keep them healthy.

    Toxicity: Non-toxic.

Feeding: Liquid feed once a month throughout spring and summer.
