This unusual looking fern is called Doryopteris pedata or commonly called the ‘Digit or hand fern’ in reference to its interesting shaped leaves- the lower leaves resemble maple leaves but the tall fertile leaves look hand-like which sit atop long thin stems, . Native to the tropical regions of the West Indies, it can also be found in Central and South America. This fern is part of the Pteridaceae family

LOVES- A semi-shady position away from direct sunlight which will scorch the leaves. Really benefits form high humidity so mist frequently.
HATES- Under or over watering. Keep the soil moist at all times but not soggy. Enjoys being watered from below. Fertilise once a month in the growing season to boost growth. Avoid cold drafts
