  • Spathiphyllum, often known as the Peace Lily, is a tropical plant native to South and Central America. This particular variety ‘Sensation’ is a cultivar, and is the largest member of the Peace Lily family. It has huge, dark glossy leaves that are deeply ribbed and sculptural in appearance. They are tolerant of low-medium light conditions, but when placed in bright, indirect light they produce large white flowers called spathes. They are also great air-purifiers.

Peace Lilies are great plants for beginners, as their leaves will visibly start to droop if they need more water. This can act as a great reminder if you are forgetful with watering, and the plant quickly bounces back once it has had a drink!

  • Care difficulty: Peace Lilies are easy-care plants, great for beginners.

Light requirements: Lots of bright but indirect light will help this plant to thrive and produce flowers, but it will also tolerate lower light conditions. Make sure to dust the leaves to ensure they receive enough light.

Watering: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feels dry. Peace Lilies can droop dramatically when they are thirsty, but soon perk up again after being watered. Hardiness: Peace Lilies are happy in average household temperatures (18-24°C) but can tolerate temperatures as low as 12°C in winter.

Size: Pot diameter 24cm, plant height 150cm. Sensations tend to grow between 1.5 - 1.8m tall and can spread quite wide. Their large leaves can be susceptible to tearing.

Humidity: Peace Lilies thrive in humid environments and benefit from being misted.

Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans.

Feeding: Liquid feed once a month during the growing season (spring-summer).
