Selaginella martensii 'Jori' (Creeping Moss)
Native to Mexico, the Selaginella martensii ‘Jori’ is one of about 700 in this species of plant, which is commonly known as Creeping Moss. Selaginella is a Lycophyte, one of the oldest groups of vascular plants which used to dominate the Earths surface, dominating habitats around 300 million years ago!
A favourite in Victorian times due to being able to survive lower temperatures than some plants (please don’t put yours in place below 5°C). This variety is more upright, with stems reaching up to 1ft and aerial roots that protrude from the stem down into the soil. A great option for terrariums!
