  • Coffee arabica originates from Ethiopia, from where it was taken to Yemen where it was cultivated. The un-roasted seeds of the coffee arabica were smuggled out of the country, and taken to India, South East Asia and Southern America, where the plant now grows. The coffee plant has glossy green foliage, becoming bushier as it grows. It can reach up to 4ft or more.

  • Care difficulty: Coffee arabica are easy to care for as long as they are in a warm and bright position with ample humidity.

Light requirements: While the coffee plant likes a light location, full sun will burn the leaves, so ensure the light is indirect.

Humidity: The plant prefers humid atmospheres, humidity can be increased with misting or a pebble tray underneath.

Watering: Regular watering is key to the plants survival, keep the soil moist at all times but don’t waterlog.

Toxicity: This coffee plant is toxic to pets.

Feeding: During the growth period the coffee arabica benefits from being fed every two weeks.

Repotting: Repot the plant every two years in the spring.
