Aechmea fascinator (Silver vase/Bromeliad)
Aechmea is a genus of flowering plants in the family Bromeliaceae. The bromeliad family are epiphytic plants that live directly off of other trees and plants in the tropical rainforests of Brazil. The plant is a rosette shape with large silvery-grey striped leaves with a central well in the centre (replace this water every few weeks with rainwater or distilled water) A large stunning flower is produced which can last months to a year-once the flower has died you must cut it off, the plant will also die but new bromeliad pups will begin to grow around the base of the original plant.
