Fockea edulis is a species native to South Africa and Namibia. Due to the dry weather conditions of its native habitat this plant has a caudex - a fat root which stores water. It is also a semi deciduous plant which means it will drop its leaves in winter and relies on this stored water, come summer these plants produce new green leaves on vine like stems.

RATING- Easy

LOVES- A bright but indirectly lit spot away form direct sunlight.

HATES- Overwatering especially in winter- these plants are drought tolerant and need infrequent watering during the winter. If the caudex starts to shrivel it’s thirsty. These plants do not like the cold so keep them out of cold draughts.

Pot diameter- 10cm
