Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’
The Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’ is the national tree of India. In legend this plant was the tree in which Buddha sat for 49 days to achieve enlightenment! This is related to the Ficus lyrata ‘Fiddle leaf fig’ but is much more tolerant of different light levels and is easier to care for.
RATING- Moderate
LOVES- Bright, indirect sunlight. *Will not tolerate long periods of direct sunlight or shade. Rotate every now and again to ensure even growth. These plants will also benefit from a humid environment or infrequent misting.
HATES- Over-watering- This plant needs careful watering. Check the soil before watering ensuring that it is consistently and evenly moist but allow the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry out a little in-between.
