  • The Haworthia genus is named after British scientist and succulent collector Adrian Hardy Haworth. The Haworthia cooperi is a diverse species of succulents that originate from the western cape in South Africa. The appearance of the succulent depends on the variety

This Haworthia cooperi is a rosette-forming succulent plant.

  • Care difficulty: This plant has simple care needs.

Light requirements: Will appreciate a bright indirect spot, but avoid direct sunlight, especially during the hottest hours of the day. Too much direct sunlight can cause the succulent leaves to burn and shrivel.

Watering: Haworthia cooperi is succulent and therefore stores its water supply within its fleshy leaves. During spring and summer, the plant can be watered thoroughly once the soil has dried out. During winter watering can be reduced further to avoid rot. Ensure the plant is potted in a well-draining soil mix.

Humidity: The Haworthia cooperi doesn’t have specific humidity needs and naturally grows in arid environments. Like most succulents, they prefer a warm and dry spot therefore average household conditions will be fine for the Haworthia cooperi. They do prefer a well-ventilated spot, so locating near a window in the warmer months is ideal.

Toxicity: Non-toxic to humans and pets.

Feeding: Does not require a lot of fertiliser but to give your Haworthia an added boost you can use a cactus and succulent feed during the warmer months, always follow the directions on your Cacti and Succulent feed.

Repotting: Repot the plant when it becomes rootbound in a well-draining soil mix, cacti and succulent soil is the best option for this.
