Dracaena trifaciata ‘Moonshine’ syn. Sansevieria trifasciata 'Moonshine' (Moonshine Snake plant)

This Sanseveria trifasciata is known as ‘Moonshine’. Native to West Africa this variety of mothers in laws tongue has unique silver-gray-green leaves with faint green stripes. The darker variegation is what gives it its name ‘trifasciata’ which in Latin means “marked with three bands”.

This compact hardy fellow is super easy to look after and makes a perfect gift or addition to a collection! A great air purifier, it releases its oxygen at night so helps aid sleep.

Care Difficulty: This plant has very easy care needs.

Light requirements: Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Moonshine’ is one of the easiest plants to keep thanks to its tolerance of many light levels from light shade to bright light. However, too much direct sunlight can scorch the plant. Does appreciate some fresh air circulation.

Watering: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. This plant is drought tolerant so can go without water for short periods. Water even less in water. Do not let this plant sit in water as this will increase the chances of root rot.

Humidity: Does not need any additional humidity so will work well in average household conditions.

Toxicity: Toxic to humans and pets

Feeding: Enjoys a weak feed once a month in spring and summer during its growing season. Sansevieria are low maintenance and do not require a great amount of fertilization.

Repotting: Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Moonshine’ don't mind being a little rootbound. Only re-pot when it has outgrown its current container this can be every 2 to 3 years. Pot up one size larger in a container with good drainage using a cacti and succulent mix.

Refunds & returns

Refunds are available for any plant or product with an obvious fault. The request must be made within 7 days via email or by phone.

Any products damaged in transit will require photos to be submitted via email. If we think they are salvageable we will provide you with return labels. If they are not we will provide a full refund, but we require the complaint to be submitted within 7 days of receiving the plant.

Any return of plants within 7 days for any other reason will require the customer to pay for that return postage.
