These beautiful bonsai Metasequoia glytostroboides more commonly known as 'The Dawn Redwood' is a quick growing bonsai that can grow up to a metre a year! Can be kept in a garden or indoors. Makes a perfect first bonsai as its care is relatively simple. We have 3 sizes available each in a unique bonsai pot.

RATING- Moderate

LOVES- A bright spot away from direct sunlight which will scorch the leaves. Water frequently, especially in Spring-Summer, this can sometimes look like twice a day! Reduce watering frequency slightly in Winter. Prune to encourage new growth

HATES- Under-watering, direct sun. Re-pot in the Spring into a larger bonsai dish

Makes a perfect first bonsai as its care is relatively simple. We have 3 sizes available each in a unique bonsai pot.
    Quick Care Guide

    Care Difficulty: This plant has moderate care needs.

    Light requirements: Prefers bright spot but keep out of direct sunlight as this will scorch the leaves.

    Watering: Water when the top inch of the soil is dry. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged, overwatering this plant can cause root rot. Try using room-temperature water so as not to shock the plant.

    Humidity: Love humidity. Increase the humidity by grouping plants together, using a humidifier, misting or placing them in a kitchen or bathroom.

    Toxicity: Non-toxic to humans and pets.

    Feeding: Apply a liquid fertiliser as directed during the growing season (spring and summer) but reduce it in winter. Follow the instructions on the fertiliser packaging for the dilution ratio.

    Repotting: Likes to be repotted every two years. Some root pruning may be needed.

    FREE UK DELIVERY ON ALL ORDERS OVER £50.

    Free local delivery to Brighton & Hove homes and surrounding areas is available.

    UK Nationwide delivery fees (for total orders under £50):

    • £4 for 48-hour tracked delivery via Royal Mail
    • £6.95 tracked next-day working day delivery with UPS (order must be received before 2pm to guarantee next-day delivery).

    These charges cover the whole order, regardless of how many items. Please email us if you would like the option to upgrade your shipping for faster delivery.

    Refunds & returns

    Refunds are available for any plant or product with an obvious fault. The request must be made within 7 days of delivery via email or by phone.

    Any products damaged in transit will require photos to be submitted via email. If we think they are salvageable we will provide you with return labels. If they are not we will provide a full refund, but we require the complaint to be submitted within 7 days of receiving the plant.

    Any return of plants within 7 days for any other reason will require the customer to pay for that return postage. Full details can be found here on our Refunds Policy page.
