Create your own festive garland masterpiece

Create your own unique festive garland in our cosy houseplant shop in central Brighton. In this 1.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics from scratch—starting by making foliage bunches and attaching them to wire to build your garland. Then it’s time to decorate using cinnamon sticks, pinecones, baubles, and plenty of seasonal touches to make it truly your own.

Workshop Description

New for 2026, we're excited to introduce our Christmas Garland Workshop!

Bring some festive magic into your home and create your own beautiful handmade garland in our lovely houseplant shop in the heart of Brighton.

During this creative and relaxed workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of garland making from scratch. We'll begin by building up a lush base using a huge variety of fresh festive foliage, creating a rich and natural garland ready to be decorated.

Once your garland has been beautifully "greened up", you'll finish it with a wonderful selection of festive decorations including cinnamon sticks, pinecones, dried fruits, ribbons, baubles and other seasonal treasures.

We're renowned for providing an exceptional range of materials and foliage, ensuring that everyone leaves with a garland that is completely unique and a true reflection of their own style.

Whether displayed across a mantelpiece, draped along a staircase, or used as a festive table centrepiece, your handmade garland will bring Christmas cheer to your home throughout the season.

What to expect

Our Christmas Garland Workshops are held in our dedicated basement workshop space at Between Two Thorns, 91 Trafalgar Street, Brighton.

Please note that access to the workshop is via stairs only, as the workshop is located downstairs.

We kindly ask that you arrive 5–10 minutes before the start time so we can begin promptly and make the most of our festive time together.

The workshop is split into two parts:

🎄 Part 1 – Greening Up Your Garland
Learn how to create a lush garland base using a huge variety of fresh festive foliage. We'll guide you through the techniques needed to build a full and long-lasting arrangement.

✨ Part 2 – Decorating
Finish your garland with an abundance of festive treasures including pinecones, cinnamon sticks, dried fruits, ribbons, baubles and more, creating a design that's completely unique to you.

🥧 Festive Refreshments
Enjoy mince pies and mulled wine throughout the workshop, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available. We're happy to cater for dietary requirements, so everyone can enjoy a festive treat.

By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a beautiful handmade Christmas garland and all the skills needed to recreate one year after year.

You can cancel for a full refund up to 7 days before the event. Please email enquiries@betweentwothorns.com to do so

If you have to cancel within 7 days for ANY reason, then we will try and re-sell your tickets. If they do not sell, then we will be unable to book you onto another workshop or issue a refund. We know this sounds harsh, but unfortunately we are a small business, we will have bought fresh materials for the workshop and they will simply go to waste if you are unable to attend. However we do have a brilliant solution - which is that we would be happy to make you up a terrarium that you would have made for you to collect at your leisure! OR we can provide you with all the materials and lend you the tools for you to create your own terrarium at home, so you will not miss out.

We reserve the right to cancel the workshop at any time. In this case you will be issued a full refund or offered another workshop time.
