Workshop Description

We're now offering our popular terrarium workshop in a smaller format!

Using a beautiful glass vessel (10cm wide x 21cm tall), you'll create your own self-sustaining miniature ecosystem to take home. Perfect for anyone who loves plants but doesn't want the hassle of high-maintenance houseplants.

Imagine having a plant that needs very little care and thrives within its own tiny world. During this fun and creative one-hour workshop, we'll guide you through the process of building your very own closed terrarium from start to finish.

This workshop includes:
• A glass terrarium vessel (10cm x 21cm)
• All plants, materials, and decorative elements
• Expert step-by-step guidance
• A terrarium care guide to take home

Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned plant enthusiast, you'll leave with a beautiful living ecosystem and the confidence to help it thrive.

Please note: Each booking is for one person creating one terrarium. Due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate shared builds. If two people would like to attend, two workshop spaces must be booked.

If you're purchasing this workshop as a gift, we recommend buying a gift voucher online or in-store, allowing the recipient to book a date that suits them.
What to expect

Our terrarium workshops are held in our dedicated basement workshop space at Between Two Thorns, located at 91 Trafalgar Street, Brighton.

Please note that access to the workshop is via stairs only, as the workshop is situated downstairs.

We kindly ask that you arrive 5–10 minutes before the start time to allow everyone to get settled so we can begin promptly.

The workshop is split into three stages:

🌿 Part 1 – Building the Base
Learn how to create the foundation of your terrarium, including drainage and substrate layers that help maintain a healthy ecosystem.

🌱 Part 2 – Planting Up
Choose from a selection of suitable plants and learn how to arrange and plant them within your terrarium.

✨ Part 3 – Decorating
Add the finishing touches with mosses, stones, wood, and decorative elements to make your terrarium uniquely yours.

You can cancel for a full refund up to 7 days before the event. Please email enquiries@betweentwothorns.com to do so

If you have to cancel within 7 days for ANY reason, then we will try and re-sell your tickets. If they do not sell, then we will be unable to book you onto another workshop or issue a refund. We know this sounds harsh, but unfortunately we are a small business, we will have bought fresh materials for the workshop and they will simply go to waste if you are unable to attend. However we do have a brilliant solution - which is that we would be happy to make you up a terrarium that you would have made for you to collect at your leisure! OR we can provide you with all the materials and lend you the tools for you to create your own terrarium at home, so you will not miss out.

We reserve the right to cancel the workshop at any time. In this case you will be issued a full refund or offered another workshop time.
