Background & Origin
Asplenium nidus ‘Crispy Wave’ is a hybrid of A. nidus, created in 2000 in Japan by Yuki Sugimoto from A. nidus ‘Osaka’ and an unnamed A. nidus. This variety is prized for its dense, stiff, upright fronds with a wavy, almost leathery texture. Its vivid yellow-green foliage emerges from the center in striking rosettes, giving it a bold, architectural presence—perfect for adding a tropical statement to indoor spaces.
