Background & Origin
Phlebodium aureum 'Blue Star', commonly known as the Blue Star Fern, is a distinctive fern valued for its wavy, blue-green fronds. The species Phlebodium aureum is native to the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, including parts of Mexico, Brazil, the United States (Florida), and the Caribbean. In its natural habitat, it often grows as an epiphyte on trees, where it enjoys warm temperatures, filtered light, and high humidity.

The cultivar 'Blue Star' has become a popular houseplant thanks to its unusual silvery-blue foliage and tolerance of typical indoor conditions. Its tropical origins make it well suited to bright, indirect light and moderate humidity.
