Repot your carnivorous plants with this purpose made soil

    Overview

    Carnivorous Plant Soil 🌿

Our specialist Carnivorous Plant Soil is designed for insect-eating plants such as Venus Flytraps, Sundews and Pitcher Plants.

Carnivorous plants naturally grow in nutrient-poor, acidic environments, so ordinary houseplant compost is far too rich for them. This lightweight, free-draining mix provides the kind of conditions they need to develop healthy roots without adding unnecessary nutrients.

    Perfect for:

    🌱 Venus Flytraps
    🌿 Sundews (Drosera)
🪴 Pitcher Plants (Sarracenia & Nepenthes)
    🌱 Other carnivorous plants

    How to use:
Use when potting or repotting carnivorous plants. Keep the soil consistently moist using rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water.

Important: Do not add fertiliser or plant food — carnivorous plants have evolved to get their nutrients from the insects they catch!

A simple, specialist mix for keeping your weird and wonderful carnivorous plants happy. 🪰🌱

    Quick Care Guide

Carnivorous Plant Soil – Care Guide 🌿

    Choosing a Pot 🪴
Use a plastic pot with drainage holes. Avoid terracotta, as it can release minerals into the soil.

    Potting
Gently remove your plant from its existing soil and place it into the carnivorous plant mix. Avoid compacting the soil too firmly around the roots.

    Watering 💧
Always use rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water. Keep the soil consistently moist — never allow it to completely dry out.

    Light ☀️
Most carnivorous plants enjoy bright light. Venus Flytraps and Sarracenia can take several hours of direct sunlight, while Nepenthes generally prefer bright, indirect light.

    Feeding 🪰
Do not add fertiliser or standard plant food to the soil. Carnivorous plants get nutrients by catching insects.
