Botanical & Common Names

Background & Origin
Dintheranthus puberulus is a small, unusual flowering succulent native to the arid regions of South Africa. It belongs to a group of stone-like plants adapted to extremely dry conditions, where its semi-orbicular paired leaves help it blend into rocky surroundings. Rarely growing more than a few inches tall, it produces new leaves from within the existing pair, a survival strategy similar to that of Lithops, allowing it to conserve moisture in its harsh native habitat.
