Background & Origin
Paphiopedilum spicerianum, commonly known as the Spicer’s Lady’s Slipper Orchid, is a fascinating species native to the eastern Himalayas, including parts of Bhutan, north-east India, Myanmar and southern China.

It naturally grows in cool, damp woodland and rocky habitats, often tucked amongst moss, leaf litter and rocks. Unlike many tropical orchids, this species enjoys cooler conditions, making it a particularly interesting choice for an indoor collection.

First described in the late 19th century, Paphiopedilum spicerianum is known for its striking slipper-shaped flower, with a distinctive white and green bloom marked by deep burgundy and chocolate tones.
