Background & Origin
Schefflera arboricola ‘Compacta’, commonly known as the Umbrella Plant, is a dwarf cultivar of a species native to Taiwan and southern China. It features clusters of glossy green leaflets arranged in an umbrella-like pattern, but with a denser, more compact growth habit than the standard form. In its natural environment, Schefflera grows as a small tree in warm, subtropical forests. Indoors, it makes an attractive, easy-care foliage plant with a neat, bushy appearance.
