    Our Venus Flytrap Kit contains everything you need to grow and care for a Venus flytrap from home. Perfect for curious plant lovers, children, or anyone who likes their houseplants a little bit weird.

    Your kit includes:

    * 🌱 Venus flytrap seeds
    * 🪴 Growing pot
    * 🌿 Special carnivorous plant growing medium
    * 📖 Easy-to-follow growing instructions

    Venus flytraps are fascinating plants that catch small insects using their hinged traps — and yes, you really can watch them snap shut!

    **A few things to know:** Venus flytraps are naturally bog plants, so they like plenty of bright light and consistently moist soil. They should only be watered with rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water, as tap water can contain minerals that damage the plant.

    A brilliant little growing project and a great introduction to the strange and wonderful world of carnivorous plants.

    **Grow it. Feed it. Watch it snap!** 🪰

    Quick Care Guide

    ### Venus Flytrap Care Guide 🌱🪰

    **Light**

    * Loves bright light and plenty of sunshine.
    * A sunny windowsill is ideal.
    * Outdoors, it can enjoy direct sunlight during the warmer months.
    * If grown indoors, give it as much natural light as possible.

    **Water** 💧

    * Keep the growing medium **consistently damp**, never bone dry.
    * Use **rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water only**.
    * Avoid tap water, bottled mineral water and fertilised water, as the minerals can damage the roots.
    * Standing the pot in a shallow tray of water works well, especially during summer.

    **Soil** 🌿

    * Venus flytraps need **nutrient-poor, acidic soil**.
    * Use a specialist carnivorous plant mix, usually made from peat-free sphagnum/coir and perlite or sand.
    * Never use standard houseplant compost.

    **Feeding** 🪰

    * Venus flytraps catch their own food when kept somewhere suitable.
    * **Do not feed them meat, fertiliser or human food.**
    * If grown indoors and unable to catch insects, an occasional tiny insect can be offered, but feeding isn't usually necessary.
    * Never trigger the traps repeatedly for fun — this uses the plant's energy.

    **Temperature** 🌡️

    * Happy at normal household temperatures during the growing season.
    * They naturally experience a **winter dormancy**, so don't worry if the plant slows down or loses some traps during colder months.

    **Winter Dormancy** ❄️

    * From around autumn to spring, growth naturally slows.
    * Keep it somewhere cool and bright and reduce watering slightly, while still keeping the growing medium damp.
    * Don't panic if some leaves turn black and die back — this is normal.
    * It should begin producing fresh growth again in spring.

    **Potting Up** 🪴

    * Repot every 1–2 years if needed, ideally in late winter or early spring.
    * Always use carnivorous plant soil and avoid terracotta pots, which can release minerals into the soil.

    **Pet Friendly** 🐾

    * Venus flytraps are generally considered **non-toxic to cats and dogs**, although they shouldn't be encouraged to chew on the plant.

    **Top Tip:**
    The most important things to remember are **lots of light, mineral-free water and nutrient-poor soil**. Venus flytraps are weird little plants — don't treat them like a normal houseplant! 🌱🪰
