Create Your Own Self-Sustaining Terrarium

Join us for a relaxing and creative 2-hour workshop where you'll build your very own closed terrarium – a miniature ecosystem that requires very little maintenance and can thrive for years to come.

We'll guide you through every step of the process, from layering the substrate to selecting and arranging your plants, so you'll leave with a beautiful living display and the knowledge to care for it.

The workshop includes:
• All materials needed to create your terrarium
• A selection of plants, mosses, and decorative elements
• Expert guidance throughout the session
• Complimentary soft drinks and snacks

Please note: Each booking is for one person creating one terrarium. Due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate shared builds. If two people would like to attend, two workshop spaces must be booked.

If you're purchasing this workshop as a gift, we recommend buying a gift voucher online or in-store, allowing the recipient to choose a workshop date that suits them.

Our terrarium workshops are held in our dedicated basement workshop space at Between Two Thorns, located at 91 Trafalgar Street, Brighton.

Please note that access to the workshop is via stairs only, as the workshop is situated downstairs.

We kindly ask that you arrive 5–10 minutes before the start time to allow everyone to get settled so we can begin promptly.

The workshop is split into three stages:

🌿 Part 1 – Building the Base
Learn how to create the foundation of your terrarium, including drainage and substrate layers that help maintain a healthy ecosystem.

🌱 Part 2 – Planting Up
Choose from a selection of suitable plants and learn how to arrange and plant them within your terrarium.

✨ Part 3 – Decorating
Add the finishing touches with mosses, stones, wood, and decorative elements to make your terrarium uniquely yours.

Standard workshop tickets include one terrarium vessel. Larger vessels may be available to upgrade to on the day (subject to availability and an additional charge).
