Background & Origin
Ornithogalum dubium, commonly known as the Orange Star Flower, is a bulbous perennial native to the Western Cape of South Africa. It grows in sunny, well-drained habitats where it experiences cool, wet winters and dry summers. The plant produces glossy, strap-like green leaves and striking clusters of vivid orange, star-shaped flowers that typically bloom from March through June.
