Pachira aquatica, commonly known as the Money Tree, Guiana Chestnut, Kapok Tree, or Saba Nut, is a tropical tree native to Central and South America, where it naturally grows in swamps, wetlands, and other humid lowland areas. In the wild it can become a large tree, but as a houseplant it is loved for its distinctive braided trunk and glossy green leaves, which spread in a hand-like, star-shaped formation.
